The cat has jumped firmly out of the metaphorical bag as lowkey indie supergroup Gently Tender announce their emphatically titled debut album Take Hold Of Your Promise! Consisting of past members of Palma Violets, a current member of The Big Moon and members of numerous other weird and wonderful projects, the gifted quintet's debut album is spearheaded by their open-hearted lead track 'Love All The Population'. Giving feel-good vibes through satisfying chord progressions, euphoric vocal harmonies and heavy drums, lead vocalist and guitar player Sam Fryer explains: “This song was written in the first lockdown - like lots of people I had spent many hours reflecting on the togetherness of our existence pre-pandemic. I was thinking a lot about the now-empty spaces - empty music venues particularly - not only closing because of the pandemic! So this song was a bit of a lament to those.” Coming this summer through the newly established So Young Records and recorded at the famed Rockfield Studios, Take Hold Of Your Promise! is set to be a release of epic proportions. -Holly Mullineaux
